If you are concerned about the environment and worker rights you will be impressed with the approach adopted by Ipanema because, like you, we take ethical issues very seriously.

Gisele Bundchen’s Seeds collection is produced in an environmentally responsible manner, our staff are well treated and a proportion of proceeds goes to support the Forests of the Future project which reforests the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. In short, Ipanema is committed to producing ethical footwear.

• 99% of any residues and surplus materials from the production process are recycled.
• All Ipanema production facilities are light, clean and safe
• Employees receive excellent support, including medical care, family planning education and recreational facilities.
• Ipanema does not employ any staff under the age of 16
• Smaller, unregulated companies are not subcontracted for production.
• When your Ipanema flip flops have finally flopped, the moulded, expanded PVC is recyclable.
• All materials used are 100% synthetic, meaning that Ipanema flip flops are ideal for everyone, including vegans.
• Gisele Bundchen has joined forces with the ‘Forests of the Future’ project for the reforestation of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. As part of this work, proceeds from Gisele’s Seeds collection of flipflops will support the planting of 25,500 shoots of 100 different species, enough to revitalize an area of 15 hectares.
